BAS Rail & Electrical P/L was founded in 1998. Our business model is to provide products and services for the rail industry with special attention to service and short lead times. Our main customers are:
- Sydney Trains (former RailCorp and State Rail)
- Queensland Rail
- UGL
- KiwiRail
- Downer EDI Rail
Facility
We own a factory unit in Seven Hills, comprising about 250 sq m. The facility is setup to
handle a variety of tasks, including electronic and mechanical repair work, overhaul of vacuum toilets etc.
Davies & Metcalfe brake system spare parts and repair
We supply spare parts, including overhaul kits, for D&M brake system.
We also repair D&M analog circuit boards for EBC5 brake rack.
Significant projects
The more significant projects we have completed are:
- Door locking system for the XPT train
- Door locking system for the 620/720 type diesel railcar
- Refurbishment of toilet cubicle on the Xplorer train, including fitting new vacuum toilet
- Supply of door safety equipment for Sydney suburban and interurban trains
- Design and installation of control equipment for Sydney Train's decanting facilities

- Supply of spare part and spare part kits
- Managing the on-site servicing of Sydney Trains decanting facilities
Glova Rail
We are the distributor in Australia and NZ for Glova Rail, a leading European manufacturer of vacuum toilet systems and components. Glova manufacures a range of vacuum toilet systems and spare parts, including parts for other manufacturer's vacuum toilet systems.
