Door Safety Interlock System for the
XPT train
The system has the following features:
- Existing locks were modified to allow to be remotely locked and monitored
- The system included a speed interlocking system, which was designed
to override all manual operations above 4 km per hour
- The system included an automatic monitoring and enunciation of all
locks to identify faults and defects
- The system was designed to be controlled by the driver, however as
a backup, it can also be controlled by the onboard staff from the buffet
car
- The control system is microprocessor based, which can be programmed
according to requirements
- Emergency release switches are located on the inside and outside of
each door
- The system has been designed for easy maintenance and troubleshooting
with easy access/replacement of main components
