Design, manufacture, supply and install an automatic
door interlocking system on the 620/720 class diesel rail cars
Features:
- The locks had to adapt to the existing doors, which were of varying
construction
- The system included a speed interlocking system which was designed
to override all manual operations above 4 km per hour
- The system included an automatic monitoring and enunciation of all
locks to identify faults and defects
- The system can be controlled by the guard or driver
- The system has a selectable fail-safe or fail-secure locking device
for emergency access in the event of loss of power
- The control system is microprocessor based, which can be programmed
according to requirements
- The design included an integrated digital speedometer as optional
feature
- Emergency release switches are located on the inside and outside of
each door
- The system has been designed for easy maintenance and troubleshooting
with easy access/replacement of main components
- New trainlines and trainline connectors were fitted
